Pornhub was founded by web developer Matt Keezer as a website within the company Interhub and launched on 25 May 2007. In March 2010, the company was purchased by Fabian Thylmann as part of the Manwin conglomerate, now known as MindGeek.

As part of MindGeek, Pornhub makes up one of several pornographic websites in the company's "Pornhub Network," alongside YouPorn, RedTube and the like. Pornhub is the single largest such website on the internet, hosting more videos than any similar site.

You all know the basic free version of this popular tube site, but with a premium membership, you can get rid of all the advertisements and watch 4K and even VR videos, with more than 100,000 scenes that the regular site doesn't offer. Also, while the vast majority of the collection is streaming-only, there are a few thousand downloadable videos too.

Many of the videos within the free version of Pornhub have you getting just five minutes into a scene only to discover it doesn’t have the ending.

To make sure there was always fresh content to satisfy those users, Pornhub’s amateurs, models and content partners uploaded an incredible 4.79 million new videos, creating over 1 million hours of new content to enjoy on the site. If you were to start watching 2018’s videos after the Wright brother’s first flight in 1903, you would still be watching them today 115 years later!

In a broader sense, Pornhub is almost more like a porn-focused social media website… where users can interact with each other, leave comments on videos, build their profiles, compile lists of their favorite videos, and so on. And of course, users can upload their own content.

Every minute, 63,992 new visitors arrive at Pornhub, 207,405 videos are watched, and 57,750 searches are performed. 55 of those video views are of Kim Kardashian’s sex tape, which is still Pornhub’s most-watched video of all time at 195 million views!
